Kids Have A Splashing Time With Dunfermline Fire Service!

IMG_3300The children of Benachie Playgroup enjoyed some very special visitors to their home at Carnegie Hall this morning.  As part of our learning about ‘People Who Help Us’ this week, a crew from Dunfermline Fire Service popped by to see the children.  We had been dressing up in our fireman helmets and playing with our own fire engines in the garden when our very exciting visitors turned up later in the morning.

The children were given the opportunity to clamber on board the fire engine – some even sat in the driver’s seat!

They also got the opportunity to test out their fire fighting skills by turning the hose on and giving the grass outside playgroup a good soaking (narrowly missing a daddy helping out on parent rota duty)!  IMG_3299

We even got to see the flashing blue lights and hear the noisy honk of the fire engine horn….although some of us thought it was a bit loud.  Finally, we said a huge thank you and gave the officers a Great Big Benachie Clap, waving goodbye as the fire engine drove off after a very exciting morning.

Later this week, we hope to have Nurse Ali and a Community Policeman to visit our playgroup and tell us a bit about how they help us.
